Highway and Community Rangers

The Ranger's visit Hunstanton several times a year if there is work identified for their attention. If you have any specific highway maintenance issues, please contact the Town Clerk clerk@hunstantontowncouncil.gov.uk with as much information as possible including the exact location and specific concerns.

Typical work the Rangers do:

Side out a carriageway or footway for distances less than 100m (Overgrown grass/weeds or soil encroachment)

Clear small amounts of mud and soil from the carriageway (non-urgent)

Hand sweep carriageway or footway for distances less than 100m

Trim hedge to expose sign etc.

Soil and seed verge (small areas only - under 10m2)

Strim verge grass

Rod and flush drain

Clean out gully

Rod and flush kerb drainage offlet

Clear grip

Wash sign, bollard or reflector post

Repair potholes

Typical work we don't do:

Clear ditches (in private ownership)

Trim hedges (in private ownership)

Undertake areas of patching – these need programming

Street Name Plates i.e. "High St" (these are the responsibility of the District Council)

Clear build-up of leaves from footway / carriageway (District Council is the Street Cleaning Authority)

Rubbish / litter pick (this is the responsibility of the District Council)
