10th & 11th November 2018
All of the events and acts of remembrance during the Centenary weekend in Hunstanton were well attended.
On the Sunday between around 1500 people gathered at the Cenotaph War memorial in the Esplanade gardens for the Act of remembrance and the two minutes silence.
On the Friday a number of pupils from each of the three schools in the town were among those who visited the Remembrance Bed on the Green to place named crosses for the 443 people who went from Hunstanton to serve in the Great War.
During the weekend over 600 people viewed the Hunstanton remembers Exhibition in the Town Hall, where all who went to war were remembered in the Roll of Honour, informative displays and selected readings.
Finally, on Sunday evening a good crowd assembled on the cliff top to see the beacon lit, hear the Last Post sounded and listen to the Cry for Peace Around the World.
Thank you to everyone who helped make these events happen during this special year.
