I was born and spent my school years in Peterborough, followed by two years at the Isle of Ely college in Wisbech. This led to a degree in Product Design followed by a teaching qualification.
I spent the next 25 years or so in East London, working as a product designer, secondary teacher and eventually an Assistant Head Teacher.
Several years ago, my partner Linda and I decided to move out of London and, loving Hunstanton, chose to move up here, I now work as a head of faculty at a local secondary school.
I have always taken an interest in my local community issues and was elected to council in 2017.
I am currently chair of the Youth Working Panel, an e-planner and my big project has been working on producing the Neighbourhood Plan for Hunstanton. Covid permitting the aim is to get this plan accepted by holding a referendum of the people of Hunstanton and by an independent examiner this year.
I feel my role as a councillor is to listen to and represent the views of the local community, in any issue that may arise.
Since arriving in Hunstanton, most of my free time has been working with the council, but I have also become a member and a supporter of the Civic Society.
